Gary Rymer is the Director of Transportation and has been in the transportation field for many years.  Assuming his current position in May 2004, Mr. Rymer is responsible for ensuring transportation services are provided to LMCS consumers.  Transit operations are provided in Dade, Catoosa, Walker, Chattooga, Floyd, and Paulding counties.  LMCS is the main contractor for the fifteen (15) counties in DHR Region One and as such Mr. Rymer functions as the prime contact for any operational situations that might arise.  He supervises a staff of over forty (40) persons which is comprised of drivers, dispatchers, maintenance mechanics, and administration. 

Prior to joining LMCS, Mr. Rymer was employed by the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority dba LYNX in Orlando, FL.  LYNX is the public bus service for three counties in the central Florida area.  This agency services the community with over 200 city buses and 900 drivers.  While there he held positions in Transportation and Material Control in support of transit operations.

Mr. Rymer was born in Chattanooga, TN, and raised in Flintstone, GA, and Chattanooga.  After high school graduation, he immediately went into the military, eventually retiring from the U.S. Navy.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Business Administration from the California University for Advanced Studies.
