The program, which is designed for individuals who may require longer-term care, is enhanced by an intensive case management component as well as short-term and long-term residential care.

Specialized Adult Mental Health Services

Case Management Services - Case Management is a community-based treatment modality which provides treatment, rehabilitation, advocacy, and support services to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness. Case managers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help consumers establish natural-based community support networks. These include safe and affordable housing, part- and full-time employment, opportunities for social interaction, as well as educational programs on various aspects of mental illness and medication.

Based on a philosophy of consumer empowerment, the directive of this program is to help individuals progress toward independent, responsible, and self-directed lives.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services - LMCS offers a Peer Support Program located at Cornerstone in Walker County. The program operates five days a week, and offers training and supports in the five environments essential to recovery- living, learning, working, and social. The agency employs a Certified Peer Specialist who serves as the Program Leader.

Intensive Residential Services - LMCS offers this level of care at its Horizons facility, located in Catoosa County. Horizons is a 14 bed facility for male and female adults who are in need of skills training and/or supports to assist them in living independently in the community. Horizons is staffed with24 hour awake staff, and consumers are admitted to the facility on a voluntary basis.

Supported Employment - LMCS offers an extensive Supported Employment Program for persons recovering from severe and persistent mental illness. Often, this population has difficulty securing competitive employment due to inadequate work history and lack of training. The Supported Employment Program emphasizes pre-vocational training, on-the-job training, job coaching, employer assistance, and extensive follow-up for corporate and individual participants.
