Mental Health Court

We provide services to anyone four years of age and older who lives in Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, or Walker Counties and who are in need of Mental Health and Addictive Disease Treatment.

In partnership with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, the agency has created a Mental Health Court Program that serves individuals residing in Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Walker Counties.  This program began in 2019 to provide assistance to individuals involved in the court system to learn to be responsible for their mental health needs and actions. The program lasts a minimum of 18 months.

Purpose:

As part of the program, participants are given the opportunity to learn to be responsible for their own mental health needs and their own actions.  This is done through medication management, group and individual evidence-based treatment, drug and alcohol monitoring, and intensive case management.

Target Population:

Felony offenders that are in the judicial system due to being charged with offenses that are most likely a result of their mental illness.  Participants are accepted either 1) as a part of the sentencing of a new offense or 2) as part of probation revocation proceedings.
